1. Identity and Consent (DPDP Compliant)

Bari respects your privacy and is designed to adhere to modern data protection laws (including the DPDP Act). We use your Google or phone identity (specifically your name, email, profile photo, and phone number) solely to verify your account, link your logins, assign you to schedules, and deliver transaction notifications.

We may link your Google and phone-verified identities into a single account when you choose to add them. We do not collect passwords, and your credentials are used solely for authentication and notifications.

2. Data Storage & Hosting

All application data, including your availability selections, rotas, swap records, and audit log entries, is securely hosted and processed on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) servers.

If you enable notifications, we store a device push token used only to deliver schedule updates, swap requests, and reminders to your device. You can turn notifications off at any time in your Profile settings — this immediately stops any further delivery to your device. Your stored token, along with the rest of your account data, is removed if you delete your account (see below).

3. One-Tap Deletion & Retention

You hold complete rights over your data. You can request account deletion at any time via the "Delete Account" button in your profile settings.

Upon deletion:

1. Your account is immediately marked as soft-deleted and logged out.
2. If you are a schedule organiser (admin) with other members, schedule ownership is automatically transferred to the earliest-joined member, ensuring rotation continuity. If you are the sole member, the schedule is purged.
3. Your FCM push tokens and calendar links are revoked.
4. After a 30-day grace period, all your user profile data, historical assignments, and auth credentials are permanently purged from Google Cloud.

4. Terms of Service

Bari is provided "as is" to facilitate fair scheduling rotations for carpools, dog walking, baby feeding, and custom duty groups. Users are responsible for coordinating their swap agreements and checking the calendar feed for accurate shift times.
